CSV load data format requirements

Hello!

 

I am looking for detailed specification regarding data format and structure of CSV files to be imported into SAP.

For example:

1. CSV file cannot contain white-spaces (especially at the end)

2. Number of records in single CSV file cannot be higher than 50k

3. Any leading and trailing whites-spaces in particular record will be deleted

4. Fields delimiter can be semi-colon, tab, etc.

 

I could not find any similar document (neither google nor scn), only some fragmented data.

 

Looking forward to any replies.

Migrate a Company Code in a new SAP system

Dear Experts,

 

what is the smarter way / best practice in order to move/migrate a Company Code (and related customization, master data, transaction data etc) between two different systems?

 

It's not an easy environment copy function, since both original environment and destination one are populated with other different company codes.

 

Please let me know the analytical steps to apply.

Purchase order

Hi, I want to transfer data from excel to a purchase order in SAP, with the datatransfer workbench. I created an empty order, so I have a DocNumber.

I just wont work and i always get the same error message... (In "BP Code" enter vendor code Application-defined or object-defined error 65171)

 

 

So I took the POR1 dta template, fill it and convert it in a Tab delimited.

I am a bit new to the data migration filed.

I have got to load the material data with 10 files mentioned below,but I am not quite sure with the sequence.Could you please help me loading the data in correct order.

Hi gurus.

 

For my project, I need to mass load Business Partners into SAP ECC. Every thing sames ok, but I don't figure how to load RelationsShips and BP status as they can have multiple values and are not available under the structure 15.

 

Really appreciate any help or advice.

LSMW - No batch input data for screen MP000000 2000

Hello,

I am trying to upload master data for Infotype 0000 (Actions) subtype 01 (Hiring)on SAP HR system through LSMW (Legacy System Migration Workbench).

I tried recording with PA30 and PA40 both.

I have followed all the 14 steps, source mapping, data conversion also is good.

 

But while processing the recording I am getting this error "No batch input data for screen MP000000 2000"

 

I am able to upload data on IT0002, but while trying it on IT0000 it shows this error.

I am not using mouse events, I am firing keystrokes through Keyboard, and all fields in the screen also are filled.

I also tried carrying forward screen to IT0001 through IT0000.

Same is happening with PA40 as well.

 

Any help is really appreciated.

I am Logistics functional consultant with 10 years experience.  I am new to the data migration space. Can you please suggest some good books to read on SAP data migration - best practices, methodologies, tools, templates etc. ?

 

 

How about 'Practical Data Migration' by John Morris ?  Any pointers would be helpful.

Dear experts,

 

I have a HCM SAP implementation in a customer and my problem is they want to upload 2 years of the infotypes 2001, 2010, 2006 for compare the last year with the present year and to get the history information in SAP HCM.

 

My questions is:

1.- There is some SAP recommendation (Best Practice) official?

2.- in my experience, if they upload too much information we will have some issues

 

 

I need to explain and show the official SAP recommendation.

LSMW using RM07MMBL

Hi,

 

I am unable to create the goods movements using RM07MMBL. System giving me error message as "Coding block" for serial number field.

 

I am entering one serial number for each line not more than that.

 

Please help me on this.

How can we avoid creating multiple CREMAS IDOCs per each vendor record during vendor data migration b/w 2 SAP systems? is it possible to just create one mass IDOC with all vendor records in it under one company code? Please let me know. TIA!

Migrate BW on HANA from SUSE to Redhat

Dear Colleagues,

 

We are planning to migrate our current BW on HANA system's DB (HANA DB revision 1.00.69.06, OS is SUSE 11.3) to a new server(New OS is Redhat 6.5 and new HANA version is 1.00.96).

 

We plan to use restore and recover way to do this but not sure if this is a good choice. Or use SWPM?

 

Hope anyone can provide a rough idea or plan for this.

SAP DMS Server Upgrade from sap db 7.3 to Max db 7.9

Dear Experts

 

We are in planning to upgrade SAP DMS server from sapdb 7.3.00.35 to max db 7.9 in windows 2012 64 bit

 

Presently we are on win 2003 32 bit and upgrading to max db 7.9 in windows 2012

 

We are following 2 step process for Upgrading this DMS as per SAP inst Guides.

1. sapdb 7.3.00.35 to max db 7.5.00 on windows 2003

2.max db 7.5.00 to max db 7.9.00 on windows 2012

 

Please provide us the steps to follow for DB upgrade and data migration

 

Pls let me know your views and known issues.

BODS and STATUS_EDIT_TEXT Function Module

I have a need to use this function STATUSE_EDIT_TEXT to get Production Order Status from a BODS ABAP data flow. The function module is Remote-Enabled  but when I add it to BODS the parameter's don't appear correctly.  I read somewhere that the Meta-Data for this function is not correct and you can get a new one from SAP that works. How do I get a new one?

hi Guys, how can i export bulk data of materials' with the latest "changed date" specific only to material group 1.

i been doing this manually at DISPLAY MATERIAL->Then ENVIRONMENT=>DISPLAY CHANGES in MENU=>and find the details with MATERIAL GROUP 1.
